Kim Kardashian is Excited to Move to New Jersey

The latest buzz in the tabloids these days is saying that Kim Kardashian is planning on leaving her Hollywood life in Southern California and moving to New Jersey. You’re probably asking, why should anyone reading a basketball blog care one bit about this story? Well, Kim’s fiance, Kris Humphries of the New Jersey Nets, will become a free agent in two weeks.
See Kim talking about moving to New Jersey in her interview with Jay Leno (starting at 3:20)
Knowing the Kardashians’ lifestyle, its highly doubtful that Kim would settle down anywhere besides the Los Angeles or New York areas. This would leave four teams available for Humphries to sign with this summer: the Lakers, Clippers, Knicks, and Nets. After a breakout season last year, in which Humphries was one of just six players to average double digit points and rebounds, there is little doubt that Kris will only sign with a team that can offer him a starting role at power forward. Luckily for Nets fans, the Lakers, Clippers, and Knicks are all stacked with starting power forwards, having Pau Gasol, Blake Griffin, and Amare Stoudemire respectively. It looks like the Nets would be his best option, especially with newly acquired point guard Deron Williams and their move to Brooklyn after next season. Will Kim keep Kris with the Nets? It seems very likely but we’ll have to wait and see.
On a side note, in the above video Jay Leno asks Kim if she has ever been to the Jersey Shore, who laughingly replies “once.” I happen to have been at a Nets game (of all places) and witnessed the two aforementioned reality TV worlds collide only 19 rows in front of me when Kim Kardashian and Snooki met at the game.
