The Detroit Pistons are coming off of their worst offensive performance of the season after only putting up 68 points against a clearly superior Chicago Bulls team. The lone bright spot was Greg Monroe, who had a 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the night on over 50% shooting. No one on the Pistons roster had a positive plus/minus even though Chicago pulled Luol Deng for the fourth quarter with Derrick Rose and Carlos Boozer following suit with four minutes left in the game. It’s So Cold in the D

The Detroit Pistons are not anywhere near the marquee level that they were during the height of their dominance.  The Pistons were able to rattle off seven straight 50 plus win seasons from ‘01-‘02 to ‘07-‘08.  The apex of that stretch came in 2004 when they were able to defeat a stacked Los Angeles Lakers team featuring four future Hall of Famers.  Currently, the only two holdovers from that championship team are forward Tayshaun Prince and center Ben Wallace.  Those great Piston teams were defined by their defensive prowess and the ability to run a systematic and disciplined offense.  Full Story…
