After the New Jersey Nets found out that they won’t be featuring Dwight Howard on billboards when they move to Brooklyn this summer, general manager, Billy King, took little time before exploring alternative options to improve the team. Shortly after Howard’s official announcement that he will waive the early termination option from his contract, which will keep him in an Orlando Magic uniform through the end of next season, the Nets acquired Gerald Wallace from the Portland Trailblazers in exchange for the expiring contract of Mehmet Okur, underperforming forward Shawne Williams, and a top 3 protected 2012 first round pick.
